hey so im sitting here at my computer and for the first time in forever i have nothing to do! so i thought id blog...
so anyway, i have a situation with my summer assignments: bc ive really been getting into my artworks stuff (which by the way ive created about 4 graphic designs for the project so far, i'll have to find a way to post them another time. but by the end i hope to have about 10 designs, but im not sure if that'll happen) and neway i really LOVE the whole graphic design thing and have so many other ideas outside of my artworks designs that i want to create. We've been working a lot with illustator and a lil photoshop, but i don't have access to either program outside of the art academy and my parents wont buy it bc its too expensive. idk if mnd has illustator, but maybe i'll just have to hold off on that until i can figure it out. i do have other ideas that dont involve a computer, but right now at work its crunch time and i havent even had a chance to get good sleep without waking up and having to sketch an idea in the middle of the night. its basically art 24/7 haha, so i'll be glad when things can calm down.
We just had our midpoint check, where we had to get up and present our designs to a big crowd while beening videotaped. yeah, i was nervous. afterward, we had a big talk with the ppl incharge of the whole project and so now they want us to fix the current designs and then completely start all over again and they want us to explore better consepts. so we were all kinda freaking out at first but it'll work out some how. sry, i just realized how long this post is :) so i'll stop for now

Hey You! I was wondering how things were going. Guess now, I know! lol
This whole revision scenario sounds very familiar. Didn't we have a similar experience with the mural this year? I think that's how it goes most of the time so keep your chin up... AND your mouse a'clickin". The next batch of designs is almost always better anyway so...
Don't get bogged down by the number of summer assignments we discussed. That was a starting point and if that isn't manageable then we can revise the expectations. Besides if you are waking up to draw and drawing/designing all day too how can I possibly call you a slacker?!!! I DO want to see what you are producing eventually - you have me really curious. 8-O
Sorry you have limited access to the programs. That truly is frustrating. (I know, I've been there too.) And yes they are expensive! I'm not knowledgeable about Illustrator, but we can check to see if it's installed anywhere at school. If not, maybe we can get access to it for you.
Never worry about how long your blog is. You just say whatever it is you need to say. :-D
Take care, try to shift the brain into neutral long enough to get a good night's sleep. It sounds as though you are having a great (though intense) experience. I LOVE IT!
yea, i really am having a great time, honestly haha. i've already learned so much and i love learning about everyone else's special areas and talents in art. its def going well. as soon as i can convert the designs to a jpeg, i can put them on my flash drive and post them from home, so that's my plan.
I'll be watching.../*!*\
alrite, i dont know what the deal is, but im not being allowed to post my designs. maybe they r just to big or something. idk but sry, i'll keep trying
Ok. That's usually the deal. Here's what you do:
Open it again in Photoshop.
Go to Images (in the top banner) then Image Size.
Look in the box for Resolution Size.
It only needs to be 72 dpi to display well on the web.
Change the resolution to 72, and try to keep the size (in inches)to around 5x7 also, or whatever the proportions allow.
Then if you have layers, that is another problem.
So go to Save As and when the box comes up with the title and format, where it says Photoshop and there is a samll dropdown box, choose jpeg.
You will get a message that says you are saving as a copy only. That's fine.
So click Save this creates a separate copy.
(Pay attention to where it's being saved so you can find it later.) It will probably try to save to your thumbdrive because that's what you're opening your image from.
Click Save.
Then close your original document.
When it asks if you want to save the changes to the Photoshop document, JUST SAY NO!
Then you should have your original document and the other post-able copy.
See if that works for you!
If not get back to me and we'll try something else.
In the end you are just making a second, low-resolution "flattened" copy that is a much smaller image and that should be able to be posted with no problem.
Good luck! I'll be checking back.
