im pretty glad with the way it came out bc at first i was very distressed. u see, i taped off the actual building part b4 i did the sky. well, i went to take the tape off and colors had leaked through like crazyy and lots of the paper got torn off. but after adding mucho layers, i was able to cover up the mistakes and so there u go!

Hey Befierce!
First of all let me say that I read your response to your situation on the job and I think you are handling it beautifully!
I know you'll be fine but the offer is still open if you need it.

And beautiful is the word for this piece as well! I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the page tonight. I'm glad you're happy with it.
It has nice spacial depth. There is a great feeling of distance as there should be.
The color transitions are wonderful as well. The variations in the sky and the subtle changes of green in the landscape really give it a look of fullness, rather than a flat appearance.
Your perspective is good, and your building looks "structurally sound"!
One thing if I may, is that the reflection of the building in the water needs to have a layer of "water" laid down over the top of it so that you can more quickly see that it is a reflection. The fact that it is the same value as the actual building makes it compete for attention with the one in the background. If you make a "wash" of very thin (watered down) color the same blue as the water and just carefully lay it on top then it will dull the foreground building and the main focus will be the building in the distance. (Don't go over it too much or it will "loosen" the painting underneath.) The close one will then not jump out at you and will actually look like a reflection on the water.
Make sure your brush strokes are applied horizontally and parallel to each other so the water looks flat and "still". Better to make the color too thin than too strong. You can always put another layer on top until it looks right.
I am really impressed with this piece! It is very well done. The details really help to hold your interest. And yes...it is a masterpiece! Bravo!

thanx! yeah, i like the idea of going ovr the water like that. i was wondering how to approach that part, and i like that solution haha.
oh, and i decided to paint the taj mahal bc i've been really interested in india and its culture lately. i just think india is such a beautiful place and i love all the colors and buildings that go along with it. i was also thinking about painting an indian elephant with it's decorations and everything bc they are so cool looking!

Ohh this is so pretty! I love the pastely colors you used, they're so beautiful. Over all this piece is amazing. =3
Great job at fixing the mistakes too. I can't even tell where they are! I hadthe same problem, but I just added tons of water, picked up all the color, and started from skracth. Your idea of fixing it seems much easier, I think I'll try that way the next time I skrew up.

what did you paint that on and how big is it like in real life?

actually, i still had a watercolor pad of paper from years ago and i used that. so its only 9"x12" and it's not really the best paper either haha
