I've Got 3 Sketchfu Postings Now - Yes 3!

I'm throwing down the gauntlet!
I'm sure I'll slow down eventually.
Did you know there is a group of artists (maybe several groups) that make a commitment to do "A Painting A Day"? Google it and see what you get.
I'm not there, yet but I am going to do my darndest to be much more productive this summer.
I know, there are other things to do in life as well but....that whole thing about getting better....a lot of it is about volume. The more you do the better you get. That's one reason AP is so demanding. It requires volume in order to achieve growth.
I'm not trying to overwhelm you, just encourage you to get moving.

I haven't been on sketchfu too much because I've been working on my watercolor.
So far I have one and a half pieces done, on watercolor paper that's almost as big as the one I used in class.
I donno I guess once I get this second piece done I'll work on sketchfu a bit more. ^^

On the one I'm doing now I had to take off all the color in her face because it was too orange. T-T
It was a terrible experience, but now she looks SOO much better.

Please don't think that I think you're not working! I KNOW you are. It's not really a contest, I just want to try to get everyone into a habit of thinking and working.
That is a huge piece you're doing. I'm not sure I've ever done a watercolor that big.
Good for you for taking the color out and redoing it. Sometimes people get discouraged and just stop. I'm glad you did't.
Trish, I am really impressed with you. I love your enthusiasm and motivation!
Here's my next suggestion to you (after you finish this one - and don't let what I'm about to say dampen your spirits!) When this one is done and you have a better feel for watercolor, I want you to concentrate on your subject matter. Everything from here out should be your own creation, not a character that is already in existence.
I want to be able to enter your work (and everyone else's) in contests and exhibits this year. We can't do that if it's not original.
Think about what interests you, what is specifically "YOURS", and explore that through your art.
I think you and I are going to be talking a lot on here this summer. That is what I am hoping for everyone! :]

Okey dokey.
I did enter a piece in sketchfu. Ehh, it's not so great but I was trying to see what all I could do with the opacity tool.
Oh, the water color I'm doing now is of an original character. It's the same girl I drew on the computer, I added a background and tried to make her more personalized. Hopefully you'll like it, it reminds me of a picture my friends and I would take of each other.

You're awesome! I'm sure I'll like it. She's a cute character and making it all about you all makes it even better. Way to go!
And I'll be sure to check out your sketchfu. I'm still "playing" on there too. Despite the fact that I have a pen and tablet, I haven't used it much. Hmmm...maybe this summer..... ;-))

Aww, I wish I had a tablet! Hopefully I'll get one for my birthday.
On devart you can always see an obvious change from when someone switches from the mouse to a tablet.
I hope I can take a decent picture. Hah, my scanner isn't big enough to fit these so I have to take pictures. Plus theres details on the one I'm doing right now that I hope everyone will be able to see. ^^

Thanks for the feedback brit brat! I'm gad you're getting on and I'm equally as GLAD that you're starting to work!
Those of you who "play" this summer will have a better experience "working" during the school year. (In case you haven't figured it out, the words in the quotes can be interchanged. It IS work, but if you're in the right frame of mind, it's also playing. What a great "job" we have! PARTY ON!!!
