So.. I noticed that everyone is pretty much sticking to what we had to do in the handout that you gave us at the end of the year. Erm, well the only thing I've really done from that is the mandala.. everything else was because I was just drawing. Is this going to effect my grade at all?
Oh and I have my entire porfolio on a usb drive. So do you still want me to bring my physical one into school or just the drive? Most of my drawings are either computer enhanced or computer based anyway so they look way different on the drive than in real life.
P.S. I made a flob! (The little thing next to my post.) Please critique her because I used my tablet, she's completely done on the computer!

she's cute :)
i would add some more variety in shadows for the cat though.
she's like a vampire/witch teacher/bat/cat lover person haha.
The thing that affect your grade most is not working!
The packet was a resource for you. I'm pretty sure I put in there that you were welcome to take off in your own direction if you had your own ideas.
Bring everything with you. I want to see physical stuff. The digital data is a jump on what will later be required. You may need to reformat that or just "tweak" it a bit to meet the specs of the colleges.
Trish, I may be relying on you at times to help me tutor these other guys who are less techno-savvy. It will be nice to have an extra person, with such a large group.
I'm impressed by your first image. I think you'll adapt quickly to "Bianca". Remember to think backgrounds or environments too. I like that you limited your color choices at first.
(Man! All of a sudden there is a great deal of activity going on here! LOL)
See you soon!
Well I just looked up the term "flob" and now I understand a bit better.
With that in mind, I have MORE questions.
Is this you?
Should I also be able to see what she is saying?
Did you design her to use on a regular basis (meaning frequently like when you post to your devart site)?
I need to better understand the purpose before I can critique.
I think it's a great start. (I'll say "great start" a lot this year as I am pushing you all to get better and better.)
I love that it's entirely digital.
Be open for some tweaking. (I think I'll be using that term a lot too.)
I like her though. Good work.
Yeah, you use a "flob" to indicate that you're saying what's in the word bubble.
flob-
An image next to a group of words, usually a picture with the beginning of a word bubble, to look like the picture is saying whatever the person is. Commonly used on the website GaiaOnline.
She's actually my GaiaOnline character. Haha, I started Gaia when I was 15 and I've just now started commenting in the forums. Usually I'm on the art discussions where, of course, everyone has really pretty flobs. So I looked up what they were and decided to make one of my own.
She's actually my second attempt at one. The first one looked very similar, but she was looking straight forward. I thought this worked better because she looks more like she would be talking than just smiling at you.
I'll be adding a picture of how my sketches have developed on my tablet thus far. I'm very comfortable with the style my flob is in so I'm most likely going to work with it as my main drawing/coloring style.
I'll work on the cat. I wanted to use the same colors as the coat, but I could see how more color would help.
Gracias Dancer. =]
denada. tr!sh!lla. :)
