A Mural Is Unveiled

After months of planning and revisions, and a couple of hurried weeks of painting, the mural was done. This is our part of the new facade designed and painted by area high school students for the Greater Cincinnati Coalition for the Homeless building, in Over-The-Rhine. Our image is a tribute to the YWCA's Battered Women's Shelter. It represents the struggle women go through to make a new life after experiencing domestic violence. Seeing it installed was exciting!

There were no comments on this posting so I thought I'd add one.

I just think you all should know that it is a unanimous concensus among the art teachers that this last mural was our best to date. One of the reasons is because you ladies took so much ownership in it. Right from the beginning you all had a tremendous energy for the project. I am very thankful for that.
In some previous years the energy seemed to wax and wane but over this somewhat long process, you all really kept at it.

Not to mention the image turned out really well. It's very exciting!
Kudos to all of you!!!!!
